Twenty Books of Summer

I was scanning my online bookclubs and saw this idea to read 20 books from your shelves of what you already own from June 1- September 3. Bingo! I now have a plan for my summer reading.

Since my TBR (to be read) pile is HUGE and my want to read list for the library list is around 400 (BAHAHAHAHA) I may never finish. Therefore, I think this challenge is a good one for me. I will still probably take out books from the library on occasion, since holds will still be coming in. I will have to read my book club book as well.  That being said, this is a good way to do my summer reading and will clear my list a little more, and maybe my bookshelf too! So I can add new books………

• The Penderwicks of Garden Street
• Smitten BookClub by Cobe, Billerbeck, Hunt & Hunter (Research for my bookclub to see if it’s a good candidate.)
• Letters from Paris by Juliet Blackwell  (I love reading books set in or about Paris.)
• Here comes Mrs. Kugelman by Minka Pradelski ( Dollar Store find!)
• The Orphan Mother by Robert Hicks (ARC reading before donating to a Little Free Library)
• Monsoon Summer by Julia Gregson(ARC reading before donating to a Little Free Library)
• The Gatekeeper by Kathryn Smith ( I love history!)
• My Underground American Dream by Julissa Arce  (Social Justice read for me.)
• My Mother’s Kitchen by Peter Gethers (Signed copy, a gift from my daughter on Mother’s Day.)
• Daddy Long Legs by Jean Webster (A classic I’ve never read.)
• The Song of the Magdalene by Donna Jo Napoli (Mary Magdalene fascinates me.)
• A  Vindication of the Rights of Women by Mary Wollstonecraft (For my year long Feminism study.)
• Bad Feminist by Roxanne Gay (For my year long Feminism study.)
• The Card by D-L Nelson (Library sale find.)
• Other Broken Things by C Desir (Gifted to me by the author. I am reading it before handing over to the teens I mentor)
• SAD GIRLS by Lang Leav ( I love her poetry and all her books, new release.)
• Islam opposing viewpoints by William Dudley (Teaching myself in order to grasp a better understanding for mentoring and tutoring situations.)
• All of the Women of the Bible by Edith Deen ( Public school library weeded book rescue, can’t wait to dig into it.)
• American Islam: Growing up Muslim in America (Reading this for kiddos I mentor/tutor.)

PHEW! I have my work cut out for me. Looking forward to heading into the summer with a plan!
