Many young people I am surrounded by in life by wanted me to read this. Not usually my cup of tea…..However I will read just about anything, especially if kids want to discuss it with me after. They have had me read books that I, in the end, did actually enjoy very much. This particular book is a dark fantasy fairytale. I have to say from the writing stand point, it is written very well. It is a very descriptive book. There isn’t a ton of violence. I’m not sure about the rating of YA. I would think tenth grade and up for this book. My verdict: It’s a bit dark for me, a little too much romance, and I don’t do well with this type of fantasy/paranormal read. So although I can see how kids are loving this, for me, notsomuch.
