Fridays are for running around the town in my life. In the summer, without Baggy Books taking up my morning, I get to ease in to the errand running! On this wonderful day of not being too hot I set out to first deliver some homemade banana bread and a picture book to my longtime friend whose 13 year old cat had just passed away.
Aladdin:The poor kitty had been sick and succumbed to his illness.
So I brought his Mama a condolence present…….
Glamourpuus This is my favorite cat book! It’s just a hoot and the art reminds me so much of Aristocats, a favorite Disney movie of mine.
After that drop off and chat I journeyed on to another friend to drop books off and a gluten free treat. These books I found for her at the Thrift Crawl I participated in and I also found some at the Library Booksale last Friday that were on her wish list.
She was so thrilled! She lived in Taiwan for many years and met her departed husband there, all of her children were born in Taiwan, so she loves it when I find books that are Chinese or Taiwanese as well as Pearl S. Buck books.
Finally, after groceries and these two stops, I went to the library. My home away from home, and picked up my books that were on hold and movies that my son requested as he is re-watching Little House.
Some how I have to fit these into my reading schedule! Book problems…..
Since The Penderwicks ( aka as BOOK SIX) is so enjoyable and easy to read I picked up the last two books in the series. The second book will be BOOK SEVEN for 20 Books of Summer which I own along with book one. I figured I would just keep reading and get the last two from the library! Luckily I do have free time coming up and a current battle with insomnia to get my reading done!
All in all it was a fun day filled with books and it got even better when I arrived home to a package from a pal at The Book Club for a summertime bookswap secret exchange!
Since I am constantly cooking and was actually going to go purchase more wooden spoons I could hardly believe I was looking at a set!! These are so very needed this summer as I’m teaching kids to cook! The book I almost cried! I had the Advanced Readers Copy of this book and wanted a ‘real’ copy but could not justify buying it! Such a wonderful amazing surprise!! Book people are the best people! So much fun! Happy Solstice!
Peace.
