Rules of Civility Amor Towles: BOTM Buddy Read

I’ve FINISHED our September BOTM BuddyRead. I have so many thoughts. I wanted to throw the book when I got towards the end of the book. How the story ends up infuriated me. HA. This book has so very many characters I got lost in trying to figure out who was who and how they were a part of the story. A lot of rereading pages and going back and forth in the book made it more of a difficult read for me. Considering A Gentlemen in Moscow was so far on of my favorites of this year I thought this book would be the same type of love. Alas, it was not. I love the references to Walden and learning about the actual Rules of Civility, that it was a real thing, was fun. I like the spirit of the book, that one year of your life can change the trajectory of your life. That relationships, good and bad can shape who you are and what you look for in the future. I almost feel I need to reread it with a chart of who is who so I can get the flow of the story this time.
On to Rainbirds by Clarissa Goenawan for October.
