My Shakespeare Read A Long group chose this for the holidays. The Winter’s Tale. The play was a crazy ride. It is like Shakespeare thought he could do whichever and whatever he liked and just wrote nuts! It’s hard to classify this read. Fantasy, Fairy Tale, out of his mind writing experience??? The story was so crazy, however it ends so much better than any other Shakespeare I’ve read. The best part of this read for me was all of us coming up with actors to play the parts of all the characters in the play and then sharing them with each other. Such fun to see what everyone has pictured in their minds for all the people they are reading about! Especially since we all live all over the world.
I will definitely be sticking with this group of readers and next up for us it The Tempest which is another really good one! I can’t wait!
