The Twelfth Night Wrap UP

My Shakespeare ReadALong

Viola, separated from her twin Sebastian, dresses as a boy and works for the Duke Orsino, whom she falls in love with. Orsino is in love with the Countess Olivia, and sends Viola to court her for him, but Olivia falls for Viola instead. Sebastian arrives, causing a flood of mistaken identity, and marries Olivia. Viola then reveals she is a girl and marries Orsino.

I enjoyed this section of Shakespeare more than I imagined I would. It was a crazy convoluted thing, and I swear it was written to confuse us or send us on a mind altering trip. I so enjoy reading it as a readalong to see how the others view what we are reading! The language of Shakespeare is very clever and I adore reading his works. The fact that I just finished this as I was starting to read a book with massive references to this comedy is a little gift. It is so much fun when books collide! Part of being well read is reading about books in other books and knowing what they are referencing thereby making both reads more exciting. So farwell of sorts to The Twelfth Night. You get to stay with me a little longer as I read all the references to you in my BOTMBUDDYREAD book for February!
