The Osage. They will now always hold a special place in my heart. Reading through the book and the story of how the government treated the Osage Nation is deplorable. The senseless murders by the hundreds of innocent men, women and children, without justice…there are no words. To read about these beautiful people was amazing. To know they are still haunted to this day is heartbreaking. We have done such a huge disservice to our Indigenous people. We stole their land, their livelihood, their lifestyle, everything.
The amazing Tom White. What a good and decent man. I believe he did his best with the information he had. I also dislike Hoover more than before. What an awful man..
I’m delighted to see that this will be a movie. I hope it is portrayed in a manor the Osage approve of. One of the top reads for me this year. Excellent nonfiction read.
