Upstate New York, 1982. Viv Delaney wants to move to New York City, and to help pay for it she takes a job as the night clerk at the Sun Down Motel in Fell, New York. But something isnʼt right at the motel, something haunting and scary.
Upstate New York, 2017. Carly Kirk has never been able to let go of the story of her aunt Viv, who mysteriously disappeared from the Sun Down before she was born. She decides to move to Fell and visit the motel, where she quickly learns that nothing has changed since 1982. And she soon finds herself ensnared in the same mysteries that claimed her aunt.
What a WILD RIDE this book was! SO MUCH FUN! I love the writing style of this author as this is my second book I have just adored from her I now want to read all her books! So so good! This book was exactly what I needed at this time to make my mind concentrate on something other than COVID19. Amazing story line and a fun mystery to solve! What a grand adventure!
I highly recommend it! Also very sneaky the way she put all old thriller books in the narrative!

I remember explaining the difference between men and women and the threat of rape… men go out to run they put on shoes get their music and go and don’t think of anything else.. women go out to run and think of every possibility of being attacked.

WEEK THREE: One. Victoria’s own patents had t thought to look for her because they assumed she was at a party ….how telling is that? Viv seemed to know no one would look for her, eerie?
Two. Alma. What is with her?
Three. Carly “…. because folding the corner of a page even in a 30-year-old book is sacrilege!” I agree -do you ?
Four. Another girl. Found the night Viv disappeared. Yikes. Coincidence ? At this point in reading are you trying to get the mystery solved or just collecting facts ? Or do you just read on in the section?
Five. When you read about Viv “hunting” the hunter do you read faster or slower or did your reading not change ? Also she has some crazy nerve. If these things are easy for Viv to figure out why didn’t anyone else or did they ?!
Six. Why does Marne continually lie to Carly? AND what does she know? Why did she warn Viv and stop investigating for her? Was it deeper than what she said?
Seven. Viv. Now she has a KNIFE! And is she going to use it?!
Eight. Carlys mom and thanksgiving what do you think that was?? Is it related to Viv?
Nine. Are places stuck in time magical ? Are they haunted or do they carry the lives that have passed in the walls?
