Cranberry Thanksgiving

We rescued this book from a library purge. I don’t own too many Thanksgiving Day books and I’ve always wanted to make the recipe in the back of the book for the Grandma’s Cranberry Bread.

Grandma’s Cranberry Bread
2 c of sifted flour
1 c of sugar
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/4 c butter
1 egg beaten
1 tsp grated orange peel
3/4 c orange juice
1 1/2 c light raisinsĀ (I used golden)
1 1/2 c fresh or frozen cranberries chopped
Sift Flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda into a large bowl. Cut in butter until mixture is crumbly. Add Egg, orange peel and orange juice all at once. Stir til moist, add in cranberries and raisins. Spoon into a 9 by 5 by 3 inch greased pan. Bake at 350 for 1 hour and 10 minutes. Cool and Enjoy.

So I made this and am serving to some kids tonight! We shall see what they say. I love kids. They don’t lie if it tastes bad!! SO I will get a true review of what it tastes like. I will try a piece myself as well.

Hope your holiday is FANTABULOUS.

Book on.

Peace.
