As soon as this book came out, I wanted a copy. I love stories about Nana’s and their grandsons, they are actually difficult to find. Thankfully I worked a book fair directly after this was released and got a copy. The story is delightful. The Nana, every time the grandson complains, or asks a question, answers in a positive or new perspective to the questions the little one is asking. Pouring LIGHT into the situation. Making him, and us the reader, look at what they are doing in a different way; grateful and positive.
The challenges on instagram are always interesting, I try to do one or two things from different accounts every month. This month, from my favorite church Fourth Street, there is an advent one. Since there seems to be so much darkness right now in and around our country, I plan to do this one, or at least try to everyday. Today’s word is WATCH. That reminded me of this little story, and a very wise Nana, who is teaching her grandson to WATCH and see the good, looking for the light. So in this season I plan to WATCH for the good, even if it’s just a smile from a stranger. There is light in the world, we just need to WATCH for it. Much like the people of long ago, and me in this advent season, who were watching for THE LIGHT. The Savior.
Peace.
