BEDTIME STORIES

Small, Medium & Large is a wordless book. It’s fun to make up a new story every time.

The Snowy Day  a classic favorite visited every winter.

First Snow  Fun read, good lesson on fear for little ones as well.

Winter Poems We love poetry here at our home. This book has such beauty in the poems and illustrations. A must read.

Singing Away the Dark We really enjoy this book and were pleasantly surprised to find this information upon looking to link this book for the blog:

Now available in a new, jacketed, large format special edition! On a dark winter’s morning a little girl has to trudge a mile to catch the school bus. Will she be able to sing her way through the shadows? Lilting rhyming text by Caroline Woodward and stunning paintings by multiple award-winning illustrator Julie Morstad herald an era when singing away the dark was part of a six-year-old’s rural school-going routine.

Can we justify owning TWO copies?!??

We recently found When Winter Comes at a thrift store, so worth the quarter!!  Very good book about what happens in Nature when winter hits us. It reminded me of a time when my child was smaller and discovered the grass underneath the snow as he dug with his shovel “THERE YOU ARE!!!” he exclaimed to the grass. Such a fun memory we revisited when reading this book.

Polly Polar Bear has been with us a long time. It shows much love in it’s flaps to find what is hidden below.  Still a JOY to read.

Good night readers!

Peace.
