Rescue Then Donate

I regularly rescue “save” books from paper gators or the trash. People in town know this so they will call me when weeding out books from their library or schools. Once I had to fight like mad for months to get the books that were to be weeded into kids hands and then into mine to sort, donate and repurpose.  Once I get the books I sort at home and they go to tutoring programs, reading programs, Indian books go to reservations, lower-income or impoverished inner city schools, Honduras, Africa, homeschoolers, bookmobile, single moms, at risk kids and my home library for me to tutor from. These books have been a huge blessing to so many. Saving them from the garbage warms my very heart. I try to instill in everyone, never throw away a book. Never.

I frequent books sales as well. Especially 25 cent sales and library sales. Recently the Salvation Army Store had a sale and I got 126 books! HA.

My other passion is reorganizing and cataloging books. I have been asked to do this by friends who run little free libraries, school libraries and even church libraries. It’s all so much fun for me!

These past few weeks I’ve done a lot of both!

The above pictures are of some of the fun.

Peace.
