The Two Naomi’s by Olugbemisola Rhuday-Perkovich & Audrey Vernick

I am so excited to start this book. An interesting take on blended families. “A realistic contemporary story of two girls, both named Naomi, whose divorced parents begin to date…”

Review to follow when finished. I love reading younger children and adult books. Reading these type of books is fun for me, like a little vacation, but also so useful in mentoring and tutoring situations. You can learn a lot from a simple book discussion with a child. I have learned so many valuable insights into to the lives of the kids I mentor, simply from this method. Most children can relate to a character in a story. You just need to have the right story to read with them.

Peace.

REVIEW 3-14-17

This is a must read for middle schoolers! Extremely realist fiction. Pure JOY! What a beautiful story! I hope they write more! I love a book told from differing points of view, as this book does. I also love when books talk about other books! It’s a favorite thing of mine to find in a story! This is a very relatable book for kids whose parents are divorced, getting divorced or just don’t ask the child’s permission (HA) or opinion, and how that feels. I really has no idea the book was  going to be this good. Fantastic read! It is recommended for 8-12 years old. However anyone 8-100 would enjoy it. Such a pleasure.

Peace.
