Books by Women about Women read by Women

Today a wonderful young woman set up a read-in sit-in to celebrate DAY WITHOUT A WOMAN and International Women’s Day. We all met at a local park brought our books, ideas, wore red. She provided wonderful coffee in beautiful red mugs with hearts, passed out postcards, and helped everyone introduce themselves to each other.

I brought extra pink hats, cookies and children’s books to give to any attending children to pick from and YAY some showed up!!!

What a wonderful afternoon we had uplifting and sharing our stories, getting ideas and also sharing our books. In the world we see so much of women tearing down each other it was so wonderful to commune with these women I never met until today, and what brought us there initially….BOOKS. Ahhh the JOY that brought my heart.
The MOST interesting book of the day for me was a lady who had this book

The legacy of the sacred feminine

The Chalice and the Blade tells a new story of our cultural origins. It shows that warfare and the war of the sexes are neither divinely nor biologically ordained. It provides verification that a better future is possible—and is in fact firmly rooted in the haunting dramas of what happened in our past.

So of course I now have to order this book.

It’s always wonderful to meet new like minded people, especially women, fighting for the same social justices causes as you do. Makes my heart happy.

PEACE.
