Sunday Afternoon Fun

Author Reading and Signing

This past Sunday my fellow bibliophile friend and I headed to our local Barnes and Noble to hear a reading and get a book signed from the author Heather Bouwman.

What a delight! Heather, the author, read several passages from the book, and introduced us to the many characters. She also answered many questions, explained her writing process and engaged the children with so much respect. A wonderful experience had by all who were there. Knowing the research, thought process and sheer time it takes for a book to get into my hands always gives me a fresh appreciation for books.  Along with that fact is the want to read the book as soon as possible to honor the process and hard work of the author.

A Crack In the Sea is a lovely book told with three intertwining stories, a fantasy historical fiction, a genre I have not personally read before. I believe this is a 12-year-old and up book, just so that the content can be understood well.

Lovely afternoon. Always good to spend time in the book world, where everyone is kind.

Peace.
