Insomnia Kindle Read

I usually read my kindle when bouts of insomnia hit. Once in a great while I get up and sit with a book, but mostly my kindle is the place I read from during the wee hours of the morning while everyone sleeps. The Storied Life of A.J. Fikry has been on my kindle for a bit. Countless people have told me to read it due to my love of Edgar Allen Poe and the many book references in the story. I finally tackled it and finished it last night! I laughed aloud during several passages and enjoyed the ‘middle of the night’ read very much.  It was an easy quick read for me. I have no idea if the book would be as enjoyable if the passages he references were not seared in your memory bank, as Poe is in mine. Fun to see this writing style. I will definitely try out another one of this authors books in the future! Book lovers should enjoy this read.

A. J. Fikry’s life is not at all what he expected it to be. He lives alone, his bookstore is experiencing the worst sales in its history, and now his prized possession, a rare collection of Poe poems, has been stolen. But when a mysterious package appears at the bookstore, its unexpected arrival gives Fikry the chance to make his life over–and see everything anew.

Back to my 20 books of summer!

Happy Reading!

Peace.
