I’ve started my allotted reading amount for discussion EARLY for this BOTM read. We officially start on October 29. I started early due to a crazy upcoming week!
I have to tell you I am in love with this story! Although very graphic in parts, I am really finding it hard to stop the reading of the book!!! This book reminds me of The Mammy; an Irish story we read at my “in person” book club. The Mammy was also graphic in parts. Speaking to my friend, who is Irish, I commented on this and she said what I also believe to be true. ….that’s just how it was. This being the third such Irish storyline in the same time in history by three different authors, lends one to the assumption that this is true. I am excited to discuss the first hundred plus pages with the others who are reading this! So many things happened! So much to be pondering on.
I have read all of John Boyne’s books for the younger reader. This is my first adult book of his that I have read. Of course you know what this means……..I have to now find all the rest and read them!
