I have been taking part in a postcard exchange with book suggestions. The instructions for the exchange are to send a postcard from your state or country and write on the back an author from your state or book that takes place in it. The first one was 14 people participating. This next one that I am currently preparing is 30 people. I can’t wait to see all the postcards and book suggestions.
The following are the suggestions from my first exchange.
- The 13 1/2 Lives of Captain Bluebear is playful enough for young adult readers, yet as intricate and engaging as any work of literary fiction; it has the plot of a novel and the spontaneity and humor of a vintage comic book. (Germany)
- THE EXECUTIONER’S SONGÂ Norman Mailer’s Pulitzer Prize-winning and unforgettable classic about convicted killer Gary Gilmore now in a brand-new edition. (UTAH)
- Fight Club by Chuck Palahniuk (Delaware)
- The Animators by Kayla Rae Whitaker (Kentucky)
- Dreamland Lake by Richard Peck (Illinois)
- Little Fires Everywhere by Celeste Ng ( Ohio)
- While the City Slept by Eli Sanders (Oregon)
- The Shenghai Tunnel by Sharon Newman (Oregon)
- The Weight of Water by Anita Shreve (New Hampshire)
- Oldest Living Confederate Widow Tells All by Allan Gurganus (North Carolina)
- Election by Tom Perrotta (New Jersey)
- The Song of the Lark by Willa Cather (Colorado)
- Lonesome Dove by Larry McMurtry (Texas)
- Halsey Street by Naima Coster (New York)
I think I’ll start by finding this suggestion from Germany.
Peace.
