Red Clocks….I’m so sad you were not good.

OH I so wanted this to be a good read. I really did! We, as a group of buddy readers, struggled with this one.  No one liked it too much. We kept hoping it would get better. Alas, this did not happen. One story ends with the lady eating dirt. Does she die then? What happened? It’s just no. The sections of each character’s story were too short to get any grasp on the actual story and it did not flow well at all. I ended up saying what did I just read?!
As far as the overall abortion being outlawed and reproductive rights story line goes I can see in this political climate, yes it could happen having laws governing our bodies that seem preposterous, that a few years ago would seem far-fetched. IT may very well happen. The messiness of all of the lives portrayed in the story was okay as well. The book just missed the mark for me.  I was quite happy to pass it along to someone who wanted to read it for themselves and I was quite relieved to be done with it.

Yikes.
Peace.
