December is nuts. The end of the year is crazy crazy busy. These things being true we have decided to Reread Lilian Boxfish Takes A Walk all together for December Book of the Month Buddy Read. It is a warm fuzzy nostalgic read that should work beautifully for this time of year.
We do have folks who are new to the story reading with us, and since it has been a decent amount of time since I read it, I think the discussions will go well. I do always learn something new on a reread.
Set on New Year’s Eve – 1984 – 85-year-old Lillian Boxfish walks the length of Manhattan and encounters a vibrant cross-section of fellow urbanites and recollects an eventful life.
It has been quite lovely to read by the Christmas tree. I adore Lillian and my love for my city, Chicago, stirs in my soul.
