The Air You Breathe has been quite an adventure to read. It has had me looking up Brazil’s history in the early 1900s, sugar cane workers, Samba music and Carmen Miranda! Making this story really come to life. The Air You Breathe is told in reflection and real time in one persons voice. At times I wish I could hear the other persons point of view. This is, however, an enticing way to read. You are waiting for the reflection to happen, and feel like you’re on simultaneously: a roller coaster, car wreck or long train ride! The characters are so real you feel you can touch them! I can not wait to read the ending this up coming week, which will hopefully answer some of the loose ends and questions I have!
