#ChildrensClassicRead2021
Well. I enjoyed this read more than I thought I would. It reminded me of many older classic novels. The Pollyanna in my mind was negative before reading this, in that Pollyanna was meaning someone who is not seeing reality on purpose- to have an easier life of not seeing reality for those who are actually suffering for one reason or another, or for themselves to feel good so they don’t look at reality. Not willing to see truth. Privlidge.
The real Pollyanna in the story was more of seeing things in a positive light ..
in a way that made others think twice about their actions.
Very clever storytelling.
It was like a hug.
Very calming and very tear making reading.
It is hard to describe until you read it, which is maybe why the saying ‘She is such a Pollyanna’ is misunderstood and seen as negative by a lot of people.
As for those who LOVE this book and movie. I get it now.
So very glad I picked this to read for May.
It is a win.
