November in Canada

🇨🇦Canada is a country in North America. Its ten provinces and three territories extend from the Atlantic Ocean to the Pacific Ocean and northward into the Arctic Ocean, making it the world’s second-largest country by total area, with the world’s longest coastline.

Canada is closer to me than most states. I’ve not been there since my teens. So I won’t comment on what I think it is. I don’t live there. My earliest memory of Canada is it was where young men fled to avoid a war they were certain to die in.
The next is Anne of Green Gables… I have friends who are from and travel back to Canada to relatives frequently and bring back the most amazing somosas. I have a beloved book penpal and book friends that live within.

Canadian history has as much ugly history as the USA. Indigenous people were almost wiped out. The treatment of the children abhorrent and vile.

Canada has some of the most beautiful landscape in the world. People travel far just to witness it.

I received a lovely package of snacks from my dear book friend up there as we say and I devoured it. Such a treat.

Our politics actually DO affect our neighbor to the north. I dread what is coming to them as well.

I look forward to continuing to learn more about Canada.

🇨🇦O Canada!
Our home and native land!
True patriot love in all of us command.
With glowing hearts we see thee rise,
The True North strong and free!
From far and wide,
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.
God keep our land glorious and free!
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.

I very much enjoyed all my reading about Canada this month. I will in the future be searching out more as they are my neighbor and I don’t know near enough about them.

I did not dive into Canadian food much this month. Future plans…..
