Eights weeks has gone by, and thus we are finished reading and rereading this work by Tolstoy as a group. In the end, it is as if Tolstoy condemns the female right to seek passion and autonomy-even after leading us to support Anna’s claim to that right. The end is also puke worthy religious and well, misogynistic. What else is new. I do still believe this is worth while reading to have in your repertoire, the Russian history and the history of its people is important for us to read about. Seeing how women were treated is also extremely important to understand how very trapped Anna was.
