Graphic Novels

Graphic Novels are becoming hugely popular in my neck of the woods. Personally I have found them very useful for teaching kids to read, especially for fourth grade on up through high school. I have found some over this past year that I have absolutely LOVED! This being true, I have been asked more than once for recommendations. So here is my list I compiled with links to Amazon. I started by taking them out of my library to read and see if I liked the particular book.

Of course there are many genres and comics and with so many out there, in reality, just find a subject you like and see if there is a graphic novel form of it to read.

The following is my list of my favorites. I have read them all.

An extremely fun time for me.

Roller Girl by Victoria Jamieson
The Complete Maus by Art Spiegelman
March (Trilogy Slipcase Set) by John Lewis
Anne Frank: The Anne Frank House Authorized Graphic Biography by Sid
 Jacobson
To Dance: A Ballerina’s Graphic Novel by Siena Cherson Siegel
A Wrinkle In Time by Madeleine L’Engle
El Deafo by Cece Bell
Yo, Miss: A Graphic Look At High School (Comix Journalism) by Lisa Wild
Drama by Raina Telgemeier
Smile and Sisters: The Box Set by Raina Telgemeier
Ghosts by Raina Telgmeier
Jane Eyre
Black Beauty
The Stonekeeper (Amulet #1) by Kazu Kibuishi
Bluffton: My Summers with Buster Keaton by Matt Phelan
Hidden: A Child’s Story of the Holocaust by Loic Dauvillier
Beautiful Darkness by Fabien Vehlmann

I have enjoyed diving into this reading form and will be looking for more to add to my reading experiences. Check one out at your  local library.

I believe you will be pleasantly surprised!

Peace.
